How to make a mind map

  1. Pick a rectangle, ellipse, arrow or text from the toolbar and draw. Double-click a shape to type in it.
  2. Attach an arrow's end to another shape and the line follows when you move it.
  3. Your drawing saves in this browser automatically. Use Export in the menu (≡) for PNG, SVG or a file, and Import to open it again.
  4. Live collaboration in the menu gives you a link; everyone with it draws on the same canvas.

Storage and privacy

When you draw alone nothing leaves your browser. Live sessions are end-to-end encrypted, so the server can't see the drawing. Only when you connect an AI agent is that scene stored on the server for the agent, and it is deleted when you disconnect.

Example: plan a presentation on one page

Put the topic in a large circle in the middle, then draw arrows to four branches: background, problem, solution and timeline. Add smaller boxes under each branch and link related ideas with dashed arrows. Export to PNG for a slide, or SVG for print that stays sharp at any size.

Tips

Where your map is saved

When you draw alone, the map stays in this browser’s storage only. Clearing browser data or opening another device will not show it, so save important maps as a file from the menu. Live collaboration links share the canvas with end-to-end encryption. Branches are not arranged automatically. Move them yourself.

FAQ

Do I need an account?

No. Start drawing right away; the drawing saves in this browser. To open it on another device, export a file and import it there.

Can I save it as an image?

Use Export in the menu (≡) for PNG or SVG, or save an editable .excalidraw file.

Can several people draw together?

Live collaboration in the menu creates a link. Everyone who opens it sees the same canvas and each other's pointers; content is end-to-end encrypted.
